01
Understand CORS, tokens, and segment access
A playlist may open in a tab but still block programmatic requests from another website. The playlist, variant playlists, encryption keys, and media segments must permit browser access, and temporary signed URLs must remain valid for the entire conversion.
- Use only streams you are permitted to download or convert.
- Confirm the playlist and segments allow cross-origin requests.
- Restart with a fresh URL if a temporary token expires.
02
Recognize unsupported sources early
This workflow does not remove DRM, bypass authentication, or recover missing segments. Live playlists can also change while they are being read, and long streams depend on stable network access and available device storage. A failure at these boundaries is not a codec setting problem.
- Protected or private streams are not supported.
- Unavailable segments can leave the conversion incomplete.
- Use Video Converter for a local file that is already downloaded.
