Choose the aspect ratio before export
Vertical 9:16 is the common shape for Reels and Stories, while 1:1 creates a square frame and 16:9 suits landscape video. Platform presentation can evolve, so preview the result in the destination composer and keep important text away from interface overlays.
- Use 9:16 for a full-height vertical presentation.
- Use 1:1 when a square feed asset is required.
- Keep the original ratio when no placement-specific crop is needed.

Crop for composition, resize for dimensions
Stretching a landscape source directly into a vertical frame can distort people and objects. Crop or reframe the source when the aspect ratios differ, then resize the selected composition to the output dimensions. Check faces, captions, and logos before downloading.
- Crop first when the subject needs a new composition.
- Avoid placing captions at the extreme top or bottom edge.
- Review the MP4 on a phone-sized viewport before publishing.
