Brightness correction

Video Brightness Editor

Brighten dark footage, reduce overexposed clips, or tune the overall look with a focused browser video adjustment workflow.

Adjust brightness Try filters

Correct brightness without washing out the image

Brightness affects the whole frame, so a large adjustment can recover dark areas while also clipping highlights. Make smaller changes and judge representative scenes.

01

Adjust brightness and contrast together

Increasing brightness lifts dark and mid-tone areas, but it can make an image look flat. Add a modest contrast adjustment when the corrected frame loses separation, and reduce brightness when faces, clouds, or white interface elements begin to lose visible detail.

  • Start with a small brightness change instead of the maximum.
  • Watch both shadow detail and bright highlights.
  • Use contrast to restore separation after lifting a dark clip.
02

Review color after exposure changes

A brighter image can make weak or incorrect color more noticeable. Refine saturation and temperature only after the basic exposure looks right, and use sharpness sparingly because it emphasizes compression noise as well as real edges. Preview several points in the timeline.

  • Check skin tones and neutral objects for color shifts.
  • Avoid excessive saturation in already compressed footage.
  • Compare dark, bright, and high-motion scenes before export.

How it works

Three steps to finish the browser workflow.

  1. 1

    Choose a video

Open Adjust Video and select the clip you want to correct.

  2. 2

    Tune brightness

Move the brightness slider and refine contrast or saturation if needed.

  3. 3

    Export corrected MP4

Preview the adjusted look, then download the browser-rendered MP4.

Brightness from -100 to +100

Increase brightness gently to avoid washed-out highlights.

Contrast, saturation, temperature, and sharpness controls

Pair brightness with contrast when a clip looks flat.

Live preview before MP4 export

Use saturation and temperature after brightness if the color still feels off.
